Membership Categories
Full Membership - Principal - Fee: $562.50 (incl. GST)
- Licensed Advisers
- Exempt Advisers e.g. Lawyers who are in the business of giving immigration advice
- Overseas Based Advisers – (not required to become licensed until May 2010)
Full Membership - Non Principal - Fee: $225 (incl. GST)
- Full Members may apply, provided there is one Full Principal member in the organization
About Full Membership
- Full Members must apply for individual membership
- Applicants may be Full, Limited or Provisional IAA Licence holders
- Full members enjoy all the benefits of membership including full voting rights and eligibility to serve as a Director
- Non Principal Members enjoy all the benefits of membership on a discounted membership rate, but are not entitled to vote at members’ meetings and may not serve as a Director of the Board
Associate Membership - Fee: $337.50 (incl. GST)
Category 1
- Individuals or organisations with an interest in immigration but who are not in the business of providing immigration advice
- Organisations must nominate one person to represent the membership
Category 2
- Individuals who are Exempt Advisers and for whom the giving of immigration advice is either not their primary role or is not undertaken for financial gain
- Typical applicants would be lawyers who do not practise immigration work, employees of Citizens’ Advice Bureaux, Regional Migration Services, or Community Law Centres
Category 3
- Individuals who wish to remain informed on immigration matters but who are ineligible to give immigration advice at the time an application for membership is approved
About Associate Membership
- Associate members enjoy all the benefits of membership excluding full voting rights and eligibility to serve as a Director
Honorary Membership
Members confer Honorary Membership on Full Members who have made an outstanding contribution to the NZAMI.
